I am going to show you how to make a Magnetic Key Hanger using Cable Tie Mount and Neodymium Magnet. All the items you need for this is one Panduit ABM100 Cable Tie Mount and one 12mm diameter Neodymium magnet, double sided tape, and some alcohol.
I am not sure if you can get exactly this Panduit ABM100 Cable Tie Mount or not, but any Cable Tie Mount will do actually. You will need to use your creativity to mount the Neodymium Magnet into the Cable Tie Mount. Also the size of the Neodymium Magnet doesn’t have to be exactly 12mm, you can use any size you like.
The Cable Tie Mount normally comes with the adhesive backed that enable you to easily “stick” it to any surface you want. The 1st steps is to remove the adhesive, using maybe penknife (be careful not to cut yourself), and some alcohol to clean up the back surface of the Cable Tie Mount.
Make sure the size of the Neodymium Magnet is fitted inside the center part of the Cable Tie Mount.
Now cut off the center part of the Cable Tie Mount using a small cable cutter.
If the Magnet cannot be nicely fitted in it, you can use penknife to cut off a bit of the plastic.
My double sided tape cannot completely cover the whole Cable Tie Mount, so, I use 2 pieces of the double sided tape, but make sure you cut the remaining double sided tape according to the size of the Cable Tie Mount.
If you feel that the Magnet is not strong enough, you can simply stick another magnet on top of the Cable Tie Mount (simple let the magnet align itself to the right magnetic pole, and it should stick itself tightly to the Cable Tie Mount, you don’t need any glue or double sided tape).
Then you can put more than one keys to the Magnetic Key Hanger.
